Idaho's Beauty

These two photos were taken in eastern Idaho. Close to the Tetons and near Yellowstone National Park. However, not many tourists get these shots as a friend took me where tourists rarely get to go.

On A Rail

This photo was taken in North Carolina. It seems to be one of the favorites over at ViewBug. I don't have many I feel are canvas worthy. However the more I look at this shot the more I believe it is one worthy of canvas. It will one day end up on my wall in canvas for sure.

This photo is for sale in two sizes only!

16 x 20 Poster on photo paper (unframed) $50 plus shipping
16 x 20 Canvas $70 plus shipping

Badlands National Park

The Badlands of South Dakota in all of it's beauty. When the conditions are right the colors shine through once the photo is taken.

Prairie Homestead's Prairie Dog

This Prairie Dog had been digging in the dirt looking for food. When he popped up to look at me I laughed at his muddy front end. Taken at the Prairie Homestead near the Badlands, South Dakota

A New Journey and Some Quilting

It seems the last post I made here was in 2012 and 2014 is quickly approaching. I have made so many changes since my last post. Though not all of my own design but made just the same. I am finishing up a quilt for me finally. Been working on it a while now and love how it looks so far. The next one will be a black and white quilt for my mother and then a purple and black one for my oldest daughter.

Well, until I return again, good night

Wandering Back

I found myself wandering back to my blog tonight only to find things have changed on me..LOL I guess there have been a lot of changes in my life since I was here last. We moved to another state and I have a new job working for less than I feel anyone should be. It helps pay the bills but that is about it. What a shame to have to struggle just to survive while those in the capitol think things are looking better. Wish someone would give them a good shot of reality for once.

My degree has brought nothing my way recently in the line of work. I think the best thing I got from it so far would have to be the friends I made along it's journey.

Age is slowly creeping up on me lately, though, it has not gone unnoticed. The aches and pains seem to last longer now and don't go away as easily as they use to. I suppose grinning and bearing it has a new meaning these days.

Been a while I know . . .

I am finally going to post on here again. We had graduation on Friday night and of course it was raining.

I am excited to tell you I received a Student of the Year award and was honored with being on the President's List. Classes will be over the 18th of December and I am so ready to put everything I have learned to work.

The Start of a 4 Day weekend

Began after classes today. It will be nice to be able to have some extra time to do some yard cleaning. I think we might have the financing figured out for my next year. I will probably have to pay $35 but hopefully we will get it worked out next week.

Just thought I would post my other seed packages tonight. I should post a few of my other assignments as well but I would have to convert everything and I am thinking I will save that for later on.

WOW...It's been a while

I know it's been a while since I have been on here. You all know how that goes....Life Happens sometimes. I wonder how many times I have said that? The second year of classes begin on the 27th and if I can't come up with the shortage of $3585 I won't be continuing on for my Associate Degree any time soon. Life really sucks sometimes and sometimes I feel like it keeps handing me the worst cards in the deck. Just lift my chin up I suppose and go on and try to make things better. I have applied for scholarships but I won't know about them until after the deadline of April 15th. Enough about that I suppose.

Here are a couple of the most recent projects I have been working on. I know I have quite a few finished since my last post but, thought I would just post the two that I finished up tonight. These are seed package designs we are to create. I decided to create at least three vegetables with the same design and probably another design for the flower package. I will also be designing a candy box, probably for extra credit unless it's for his next assignment. Not quite sure what he said it was for.

Another Set of Business Cards

I wasn't thrilled with how my first set of cards printed out. It could be the printer but it just wasn't working for me. I do like them but was upset with the printed results. I had to create a resume for the school to submit for a chance to redesign a web site for a local business. While making my resume I decided to redesign my card, letterhead & envelope with the colors I used in my resume. I am quite pleased with my final result and they even printed out like they were supposed to.

It's Been A While

I have been slacking and I know it. So sorry for those who come by to see something new. I do have a few things to post that I have done. I have several projects finished but I am only going to post the three I did this week. If I post all of them this post would be 2 pages long...LOL

For those of you that don't already know, Gunner is a daddy to 9 puppies. Dee Dee gave birth on Jan 1 2009. She had 10 but lost 1 pup. They are adorable and an image of a couple of them is posted below in a layout I made.

The first one we were to do a characature of ourself along with 3 items that help define who we are. The second one is the horse I did for the first one and I thought he was cute so I shared a larger image of him. The third image is a poster. We were to draw a zoo animal and I chose the Indian Rhino. Once drawn I took him into illustrator and modified him to what you see in the image.

Gunner's Going To Be A Daddy

Dee Dee is expecting her pups on Dec 29th. Here is a picture of Gunner and his Girlfriend :) I can hardly wait to see their cute little faces :)

Friday Full of Ice

Last night brought about some freezing rain. We were prepared for anything, so we thought. We survived the night without losing power only to lose it at 1:30 today. The kerosene heater ended up needing a new wick and I was refusing to go out in the weather to find one for it. We did have the stovetop and a small camp heater going and it managed to stay about 65 in here with that. At about 5 I decided it would only get colder in here as the night came so I ventured out into this icy world cautiously. Once I retrieved everything I felt we needed to make it through the night my husband phones me (at 5:30) to tell me they got the power back on. Looks like we will be ready if it goes out again though as we are expecting some snow to fall on top of the ice.

It just amazes me how beautiful and how deadly the ice can be. Today, I took the beauty and captured it. Here are a couple of shots I thought I would share. Have a wonderful and safe holiday season everyone.

Coat of Arms

I finally finished this project. I stayed up until 2 am last night working on it. I managed to make my computer groan a bit with the sheer size of the file though. I am fairly happy with the final result though. Tomorrow is the last day of the term and then 2 weeks off for the holidays. I checked and noticed, to my delight, that I was on the deans list and hopefully will be so again this term. I checked with all of my teachers and so far I believe it will be 4 A's :)

We had a bit of snow last night along with some wind. I think we ended up with around 5 inches on the ground. We are again under a winter weather advisory until Friday night. They are calling for freezing rain and snow. Personally I would prefer that it all be snow, keep the rain away as it makes for terrible driving conditions. This morning the drive to work wasn't all to bad as 2 of the 3 counties I drive through actually plowed the roads. I did, however manage to find some black ice across a bridge and found myself sideways in the middle of US 30. Two slides, once left then once right and I was back on track again. Others weren't so lucky to have come out of that without wrecking though. On my way home I noticed several cars had indeed landed in the median or off into the ditch. Some were unfortunate enough to nail the guardrail too. I am just so glad I was being watched over today.

We will be going to Kentucky for Christmas and from there to my Mother's. I am ready for a break from the normal routine around here. I have the laptop ready for the trip and will be emptying the camera cards as well. We will be leaving Monday morning and returning home the following or Monday. Now on to posting my latest, the Coat of Arms created for Typography II and for my dear husband.
